Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your needs, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage and confirm if the power is single-phase or three-phase. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA. Next, select the control power used to close the contactor, then choose the overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the FLA. Additionally, the configuration options include incoming power characteristics: "direct-online starter" when line power is the same as control power, "separate control voltage" for different line and control voltages, or the inclusion of "remote start terminals" for activation from an external switch. Lastly, the key features include a 38A three-phase starter with separate control voltage and remote start terminals, a start/stop 24-60V AC/DC coil, and a 35-40A overload, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
