Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, and confirm if it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter with a current rating higher than the FLA. The control power used to close the contactor must also be selected alongside the overload, ensuring the current range includes the FLA. Optional criteria include whether incoming power is used as control power (direct-online starter), if a separate control voltage is required, or if remote start terminals are needed for activation from an external switch. The motor starter features a 38A 3-phase separate coil voltage with remote start terminals, a start/stop capability, and a 250-500V AC/DC coil with a 24-29A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
