Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters, designed for use with motors up to 60 HP or 80 A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage, ensuring to confirm if it is single-phase or three-phase power. The selected starter must be rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. For activation, choose the control power to close the contactor and the overload by selecting a range that encompasses the FLA. The starter can be configured based on additional criteria, such as whether to use incoming power as the control power, which could be either a direct-online starter or a setup with separate control voltage. Options also include remote start terminals for activation by an external switch. This specific model features a 38 A rating, operates on three-phase power, includes remote start terminals, has a reset button, and accommodates a 250-500V AC/DC coil with a 24-29 A overload relay.
