Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase power to the motor. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor, select the control power used to close the contactor, and choose the overload by selecting a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power options such as "direct-online starter" if the line power is used as control power or "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. For activation from an external switch, options such as "remote start terminals" are available, which assume the line voltage and control voltage are the same, or "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" for different voltages. This particular model features a 38A rating, operates on three-phase power, utilizes direct online starting, includes a reset button only, supports a coil voltage range of 250-500V AC/DC, and has an overload relay rating of 16-20A, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
