Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60 HP or 80 A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for a current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Select the control power used to close the contactor and the overload by choosing a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. The incoming power can either be a "direct-online starter," if the line power is used as the control power, or "separate control voltage" if they differ. For activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added. The motor starter features include 38 A rating, three-phase operation, separate control voltage, a reset button only, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, and an overload rating of 16-20 A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
