Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the supplied input voltage, ensuring to note whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. It is essential to choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power used to close the contactor must be selected next, followed by selecting the overload based on a current range containing the motor's FLA. Optional criteria include specifying incoming power; if the line power is used as control power, it is classified as a "direct-online starter," whereas different line and control voltage configurations are referred to as "separate control voltage," and the inclusion of terminals for external switch activation constitutes "remote start terminals." This product features a 38A, 3-phase configuration with a separate coil voltage and a reset button, supporting a coil voltage range of 250-500V AC/DC and an overload range of 20-24A, while maintaining compliance with NEMA 4X standards.
