Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, users should verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate and confirm the power type—1-phase or 3-phase—before choosing a starter rated for a current higher than the FLA. Selection criteria also include control power for closing the contactor and an appropriate overload current range.
