Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A, which include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. The assembled motor starters have a rating of 38A and are suitable for single-phase applications, featuring remote start terminals and start/stop capabilities. The control coil operates at 100-250V AC/DC, while the overload relay is rated between 16-20A. To select the appropriate starter, it is essential to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor nameplate, considering whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Ensure the selected starter's current rating exceeds the FLA, and choose the control power configuration based on whether the line power will also serve as control power, or if separate control voltage is necessary. Additionally, if activation from an external switch is required, the option for remote start terminals must be considered, particularly if the line and control voltages differ.
