Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, it is essential to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate and confirm whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. The starter should be rated for current higher than the FLA. The control power used to close the contactor must also be chosen, along with the overload which should select a current range containing the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power configurations: a "direct-online starter" if line power is used as control power, "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from line voltage, and configurations for remote start terminals if activation from an external switch is required. The features of the starter include a 38A rating, single-phase operation, separate control voltage, a reset button, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, a 16-20A overload, and a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
