Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with ratings of up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, it is essential to refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the supplied input voltage, confirming whether the power is 1-phase or 3-phase. A starter must be chosen that is rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. The control power used to close the contactor must also be selected, alongside the overload based on a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Additional selection criteria include the type of incoming power; a "direct-online starter" utilizes line power for control, while a "separate control voltage" denotes differing line and control voltages. If external activation is needed, the inclusion of terminals for remote start is available, either as "remote start terminals" or "separate control voltage + remote start terminals."
