Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure, ensuring durability and reliability in various environments. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage specified on the motor or equipment nameplate, taking care to identify if it operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter that is rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA, and select the control power used to close the contactor. The overload should be chosen based on a current range that encompasses the FLA identified earlier. Additionally, options for incoming power include the use of a "direct-online starter," if the line power will also serve as control power, or "separate control voltage" if different voltages are needed. For external activation via a switch, remote start terminals can be added.
