Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A, which include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the motor's full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, taking note of whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for a current (amps) higher than the motor's FLA. The control power used to close the contactor must also be chosen, alongside an overload range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Optional configurations are available based on incoming power requirements; for instance, a "direct-online starter" utilizes line power as the control power, whereas "separate control voltage" indicates different line and control voltages. If activation from an external switch is needed, terminals can be added for a "remote start," or in the case of differing voltages, as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features of the motor starters include a 52A 3-phase separate coil voltage start/stop functionality, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 30-40A overload protection, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
