Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate and confirm if it is single-phase or three-phase power. The starter must be rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power used to close the contactor and the overload range that contains the motor FLA should also be chosen. For additional configuration, one can select based on incoming power: a direct-online starter if the line power is used as control power, or a separate control voltage if they differ. For activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be included, assuming line and control voltages are the same, or combined with a separate control voltage setup. Key features of the motor starter include a 52A three-phase direct online start/stop capability, a coil rated for 100-250V AC/DC, and an overload relay rated for 22-28A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
