Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the supplied input voltage, ensuring that you confirm whether it operates on single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Next, select the control power used to close the contactor, followed by choosing the overload based on a current range that includes the FLA identified earlier. Optional criteria to consider include incoming power configuration: for direct-online starters where line power is also the control power, separate control voltage for different line and control voltages, or the addition of remote start terminals for activation via an external switch. The features of this system include a 52A 3-phase direct online with a reset button, a coil rated for 250-500V AC/DC, and an overload relay capacity of 22-28A within the NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
