Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for use with motors up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage, ensuring to identify whether the setup is single-phase or three-phase power. Select a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. Control power for closing the contactor must be chosen, followed by selecting the overload based on a current range that encompasses the FLA. Optional features for consideration include incoming power types—direct-online starter if line power is also used for control, or separate control voltage when the control voltage differs from the line voltage. For activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be included, assuming line and control voltages are the same, or with separate control voltage and remote start terminals if different voltages are utilized. This kit features a 52A 3-phase direct online start/stop capability, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 25-33A overload relay, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and certifications.
