Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power used to close the contactor must be selected, along with the overload by choosing a current range that encompasses the FLA from the previous step. The options for the starter include whether the incoming power will be used as the control power, referred to as a "direct-online starter," or if a "separate control voltage" is needed. For activations from an external switch, terminals can be added for "remote start terminals." The features of the starter include a rating of 52A for 3-phase operation, separate control voltage with remote start terminals, start/stop functionality, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, a 30-40A overload relay, and a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
