Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your needs, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to confirm the type of power supply (1-phase or 3-phase). Choose a starter rated for current up to the FLA. Additionally, specify the control power used to operate the contactor and select an overload relay that encompasses the FLA of the motor. Options for incoming power include a direct-online starter, separate control voltage, or remote start terminals for external activation.
