Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage supplied, confirming whether it operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power. Select a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Choose the control power used to close the contactor and the overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the motor’s FLA. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power configurations, such as a "direct-online starter" if the line power serves as control power, or "separate control voltage" if they differ. For starters activated from an external switch, terminals for control power input can be included, referred to as "remote start terminals." If both line and control voltages differ and remote start terminals are required, this configuration is labeled as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The key features of the motor starters include a 52A 3-phase separate coil voltage reset button, a coil rated for 100-250V AC/DC, and an overload relay rated for 30-40A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
