Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To correctly select a starter, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to check if it operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power. The starter must be rated for a current that exceeds the FLA of the motor. Next, determine the control power used to activate the contactor and select an overload based on a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Additional considerations include specifying the incoming power: a "direct-online starter" if line power is used as control power, or "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. For activation via an external switch, options for remote start terminals can be incorporated. Key features of the motors include a rating of 52A, compatibility with 3-phase operations, remote start terminals, a reset button only, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and a 30-40A overload relay, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
