Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate and confirm the power type as 1-phase or 3-phase. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor and select the control power used to close the contactor. For the overload, select a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. Additionally, the selection process includes considerations for incoming power based on whether it will serve as control power (direct-online starter) or if a separate control voltage is needed. If an external switch activates the starter, remote start terminals can be added to accept the control power input, assuming the line and control voltages are the same. The motor starters feature a 52A 1-phase separate control voltage start/stop with a 24-60V AC/DC coil and a 25-33A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
