Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, confirming if it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter with a current rating higher than the FLA. Next, select the control power that will close the contactor and choose the overload based on a current range that encompasses the FLA. For additional options, consider the incoming power configuration: a "direct-online starter" uses the line power for control, while "separate control voltage" indicates a different control voltage. For activation from an external switch, "remote start terminals" are added to accept control power input, and if different voltages are used for line and control power, it is labeled as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The features include a 52A 1-phase separate control voltage start/stop with a 24-60V AC/DC coil and a 44-53A overload, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
