Sprenger Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage supplied, ensuring to confirm if it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) greater than the FLA of the motor. The control power used to close the contactor must also be chosen, along with the overload by selecting a current range that includes the motor's FLA. Optional criteria for the selection include the type of incoming power: a "direct-online starter" if line power is used as control power, "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from line voltage, and options for "remote start terminals" that allow activation from an external switch, with configurations available for remote start terminals including different voltages for line and control power. Features include 52A 1-phase remote start terminals, start/stop capability, 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 30-40A overload relay within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
