Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage and determine if the power supply is single-phase or three-phase. It is crucial to select a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. Choose the control power for the contactor closure and select the overload by ensuring the current range includes the FLA determined earlier. Options available include direct-online starters where line power is also used for control, separate control voltage configurations, and remote start terminals for activation from an external switch. The featured model includes a 52A rating suitable for three-phase operation, a separate control voltage, and a reset button designed for a 24-60V AC/DC coil with a 25-33A overload protection, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
