Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60 hp or 80 A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage and determine if the motor requires single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for a current higher than the FLA. The control power required to close the contactor also needs to be selected, along with an overload that encompasses the motor's FLA range. The starter can be configured based on incoming power requirements: options include a "direct-on-line starter" when line power is used for control, or "separate control voltage" if different voltages are needed for line and control power. For remote activation through an external switch, terminals can be added, which requires a "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" setup if different voltages are utilized. Key features include 52 A three-phase capability, remote start terminals, a reset button, and a 100-250 V AC/DC coil, along with a 25-33 A overload in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
