Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with specifications supporting up to 60 HP or 80 A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, ensuring to identify whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power used to close the contactor must also be determined, and the overload should be selected based on a current range that contains the FLA. The options for the starter include incoming power configurations such as "direct-online starter" where line power is the control power, "separate control voltage" if the control voltage is different, and options for "remote start terminals" which allow activation from an external switch. Additional specifications include features such as a 52 A rating for 3-phase applications, separate coil voltage, and a reset button only, with a coil voltage range of 100-250V AC/DC and overload settings from 44-53 A, all within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate housing.
