Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with capabilities of up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the supplied input voltage, ensuring to note whether it is powered by 1-phase or 3-phase power. It is important to choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Additionally, select the control power used to activate the contactor, and pick the overload based on a current range that encompasses the FLA from the previous step. The selection can then be refined based on optional criteria including incoming power configurations: "direct-online starter" for line power used as control power, "separate control voltage" when the control voltage differs from the line voltage, or "remote start terminals" for activation from an external switch, which can accommodate different voltages between line power and control power. Key features include 52A three-phase remote start terminals, a reset button, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and a 25-33A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
