Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60 HP or 80 A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) on the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to take into account if the power supply is 1-phase or 3-phase, and choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. The control power used to close the contactor must also be selected, and the overload should match a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. The options for the starter include accommodating incoming power as a "direct-online starter" or utilizing "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. For activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added, which can also accommodate different line and control voltages. Key features of the starter include a 52 A rating, 3-phase operation, separate control voltage with remote start terminals, a reset button, a 24-60 V AC/DC coil, and overload settings ranging from 44-53 A.
