Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for motors up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage. Ensure that you confirm whether the power is 1-phase or 3-phase before choosing a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. The control power used to close the contactor must also be selected, and the overload should be chosen from a current range that encompasses the motor’s FLA. Additional criteria for selection include incoming power: a "direct-online starter" uses line power as control power, while "separate control voltage" indicates differing line and control voltages. For activation from an external switch, "remote start terminals" can be added, and a combination of different line and control voltages with remote start terminals is labeled "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features of the product include a 52A 1-phase direct online start/stop capability, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 25-33A overload range, all housed in a durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
