Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for a current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor, and select the control power used to close the contactor. The overload must be chosen based on a current range that encompasses the FLA. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power, with options for direct-online starters if line power also serves as control power, or separate control voltage when the control voltage differs from line voltage. For activation via an external switch, remote start terminals can be added, assuming that line and control voltages match. If different voltages are used, the configuration would be separate control voltage plus remote start terminals. The featured starter includes a 52A 1-phase separate control voltage start/stop with a 24-60V AC/DC coil and 22-28A overload protection, all enclosed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate case.
