Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with ratings of up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your application, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the equipment nameplate, ensuring to confirm single-phase or three-phase power. The starter should be rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. Next, choose the control power used to close the contactor and select an overload based on the FLA. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power; options include "direct-online starter" for line power also used as control power, "separate control voltage" when the control voltage differs from line voltage, and configurations for remote start terminals.
