Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with ratings up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, noting whether the motor operates on single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. The control power required to close the contactor must be selected, along with the overload based on a current range that encompasses the FLA. Optional features include incoming power options such as direct-on-line starters, separate control voltage configuration, and remote start terminals, which allow for external switch activation. The specifications include a maximum current rating of 65A, three-phase operation, direct online functionality, start/stop capabilities, coil voltage ranging from 250-500V AC/DC, and an overload relay rating between 36-47A, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
