Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase power to the motor. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor, and select the control power used to close the contactor. The overload should be selected based on a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. The incoming power can be classified as either a "direct-online starter" where the line power is used as control power, or "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. For activation from an external switch, terminals are added for the control power input, known as "remote start terminals." In setups with different line and control voltages, this is termed "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features of the kit include a 52A one-phase separate control voltage with remote start terminals, a reset button, a coil voltage of 24-60V AC/DC, and an overload range of 44-53A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
