Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, one should first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage supplied and confirm if the power is 1-phase or 3-phase. It is important to choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor, select the control power used to close the contactor, and choose an overload that contains the FLA of the motor. Additional selection criteria include the incoming power configuration; options include a "direct-online starter," "separate control voltage," or configurations with "remote start terminals" for external switch activation. The features of this particular model include a 52A rating, 1-phase separate control voltage, remote start terminals, reset button, and a coil that operates at 24-60V AC/DC, along with an overload rating of 25-33A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
