Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your requirements, confirm the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage being supplied, and verify if the motor operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power. It is important to select a starter rated for a current (amps) that exceeds the FLA of your motor. Additionally, choose the control power utilized to close the contactor and select the overload by picking a current range that encompasses the FLA determined earlier. The selection process can be refined further based on optional criteria: if the line power is used as the control power, it is termed a "direct-online starter." If the control voltage differs from the line voltage, it is classified as "separate control voltage." For activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be incorporated, allowing for control from that switch with the assumption that the line and control voltages are the same. If remote start terminals are desired while using different voltages, this configuration is termed "separate control voltage + remote start terminals."
