Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling motors up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your requirements, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the supplied input voltage, ensuring you identify whether the system operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for a current higher than the FLA. Next, select the control power needed to close the contactor and the overload by picking a current range that encompasses the FLA identified initially. The options then narrow down based on incoming power considerations: a "direct-online starter" uses line power for control, while "separate control voltage" indicates differing line and control voltages. For activation from an external switch, the addition of remote start terminals is specified, assuming the same voltage for both line and control; otherwise, it is noted as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The kit includes features such as a 52A rating, 1-phase operation, separate control voltage with remote start terminals, a start/stop capability, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, and a 36-47A overload relay, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
