Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, users should refer to the motor nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage and determine if the power supply is single-phase or three-phase. The starter must be rated for a current greater than the FLA of the motor. Additionally, users must select the control power voltage for the contactor activation and choose an overload relay based on the current range that includes the motor FLA. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power options, where a "direct-online starter" utilizes line power for control, while "separate control voltage" indicates different control power, and "remote start terminals" allow activation from an external switch.
