Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60 HP or 80 A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) on the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage supplied, confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of the motor and select the control power used to close the contactor. The overload should be chosen from a current range that includes the FLA noted earlier. Optional criteria include the type of incoming power; if line power is used as the control power, it is considered a "direct-online starter." If the control voltage differs from the line voltage, it is termed "separate control voltage." For activation from an external switch, terminals for control power input can be added, known as "remote start terminals," and if different voltages are used, it is referred to as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features include a 65 A rating, three-phase operation, a direct online configuration, a reset button only, a coil voltage range of 250-500 V AC/DC, and an overload relay rating of 44-53 A.
