Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage. Confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power; choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of the motor. Choose the control power to close the contactor and select the overload by picking a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. For additional criteria, consider the incoming power; if the line power is used as control power, it is a "direct-online starter," while a different control voltage is termed "separate control voltage." If activation from an external switch is needed, terminals are added for control power input, known as "remote start terminals." If using separate voltages for line and control power with remote start terminals, this is classified as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features include a 65A 1-phase direct online start/stop, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and an overload relay rated at 44-53A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
