Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor and select the control power used to close the contactor. The overload should be chosen by selecting a current range that contains the FLA of the motor, narrowing down the options suitable for your motor and power requirements. Additional criteria include incoming power configuration, either as a "direct-online starter" if the line power is also used as control power or "separate control voltage" if they are different. For activation from an external switch, "remote start terminals" can be added, assuming the line voltage and control voltage are the same. In cases where remote start terminals and different voltages for line and control power are used, this is referred to as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features of the starter include a 65A capacity for 1-phase, separate control voltage with remote start terminals, a reset button, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, and an overload range of 57-67A, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
