Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters rated up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage supplied, while confirming if it is 1 phase or 3 phase power. A starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA should be chosen. Additionally, determine the control power used to close the contactor and select an overload that encompasses the FLA of the motor. Options for incoming power include "direct-online starter" where line power serves as the control power, or "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. For activation from an external switch, terminals can be added for control power input, referred to as "remote start terminals," with provisions for differing line and control voltages if necessary. The key features of this kit include an 80A 3 phase separate coil voltage start/stop with a 100-250V AC/DC coil and a 65-78A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
