Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with a capacity of up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, it is essential to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the supplied input voltage, confirming whether the motor requires 1-phase or 3-phase power, and choosing a starter rated for current higher than the FLA. The control power for closing the contactor must also be selected, along with an overload relay that encompasses the FLA of the motor. Additional options for selection include incoming power configurations, such as "direct-online starter" for equal line and control voltage, "separate control voltage" for differing voltages, and setups for "remote start terminals," which allow activation from an external switch, assuming the line and control voltages are the same. If different voltages are employed, the kit can support "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features of the motor starter include an 80A rating, compatibility with 3-phase systems, remote start terminals, a start/stop function, and a 100-250V AC/DC coil, as well as a 48-60A overload relay within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
