Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters rated up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, it is essential to refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage supplied, ensuring whether the power is 1-phase or 3-phase. The starter must be rated for a current higher than the FLA of the motor, and control power options need to be chosen based on the desired setup. The overload should be selected from a current range that encompasses the FLA determined earlier. The product offers several optional criteria for selection: if line power is used as control power, it is termed as a "direct-online starter"; if the control voltage differs from the line voltage, it is classified as "separate control voltage"; and for external switch activation, terminals are added for remote start capability, which can also be integrated with different line and control voltages. Key features of the starter include an 80A capacity, 3-phase operation, separate coil voltage options, start/stop functionality, and compatibility with a 250-500V AC/DC coil, as well as an overload relay range of 57-68A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
