Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your requirements, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage supplied, ensuring to confirm whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. It is essential to choose a starter rated for current (amps) that exceeds the FLA of the motor. Next, select the control power used to close the contactor and pick the overload by selecting a current range that includes the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power configuration, where direct-online starters use line power as control power, whereas separate control voltage indicates different line and control voltages. If activation is needed from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added, which assumes that the line voltage and control voltage are the same. If different voltages are used, the configuration becomes separate control voltage plus remote start terminals. Notable features of the motor starters include a rating of 65A, 1-phase operation, remote start terminals, start/stop functionality, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and an overload range of 57-67A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
