Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60 HP or 80 A. Assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To properly select a starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for a current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor and select the control power used to close the contactor. The overload must be selected based on a current range that encompasses the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power: a "direct-online starter" if the line power serves as the control power as well, or "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. For starters activated from an external switch, terminals for control power input from that switch are available, referred to as "remote start terminals." If remote start terminals are required with different voltages for line and control power, this option is known as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The featured model includes a 65 A 1 phase separate control voltage with remote start terminals, a start/stop 24-60V AC/DC coil, and a 50-60 A overload, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
