Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, users should verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, and confirm whether the power supply is single-phase or three-phase. Users should select a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor and choose the control power used to operate the contactor. Furthermore, an overload must be chosen based on a current range that encompasses the FLA determined previously. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power types, where "direct-online starter" indicates that line power will also serve as control power, while "separate control voltage" implies differing line and control voltages. For activation via an external switch, the inclusion of remote start terminals is available, assuming line and control voltages will be the same. Notable features include an 80A three-phase direct online start/stop, 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 57-68A overload capacity within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
