Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the supplied input voltage, confirming the power type is either 1-phase or 3-phase. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the motor's FLA, select the control power for closing the contactor, and determine the overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the FLA. Additional optional criteria include the incoming power configuration: a "direct-online starter" if the line power also serves as the control power, or a "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. For activation via an external switch, "remote start terminals" can be added, assuming the line and control voltages are equivalent. The starter features an 80A rating, 3-phase operation, direct online starting capability, start/stop functionality, and works with a 250-500V AC/DC coil. The overload relay supports a range of 57-68A.
