Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage supply and confirm whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power used to close the contactor must also be chosen, along with selecting an overload from a current range that encompasses the FLA identified earlier. Additional options include the type of incoming power: a "direct-online starter" where line power is also control power, "separate control voltage" when different voltages are used, and "remote start terminals" for activation from an external switch. The features of the motor starter include 65A with a 1-phase separate coil voltage, remote start terminals for start/stop functionality, and a 100-250V AC/DC coil with a 57-67A overload protection. The entire assembly adheres to NEMA 4X specifications for enhanced environmental protection.
