Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. The starter should have a current rating higher than the FLA. The control power for the contactor needs to be chosen, and the overload must be selected based on a current range that includes the FLA. Options for selection include direct-online starters where line power is used as control power, separate control voltage if the control voltage differs from line voltage, and configurations for remote start terminals for external switch activation. The features of this motor starter include an 80A rating, 3-phase capability, a separate coil voltage with remote start terminals, a start/stop function, operational ranges of 100-250V AC/DC for the coil, and an overload rating of 48-60A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
