Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, ensuring to confirm if it is single-phase or three-phase power. Select a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor, then choose the control power used to close the contactor, and select the overload by picking a current range that includes the FLA identified previously. Optional criteria for selection include the incoming power configuration which can be a "direct-online starter" if line power is used as control power, or "separate control voltage" if they differ. In cases where activation from an external switch is needed, terminals for control power input can be added, referred to as "remote start terminals." Key features of the motor starters include an 80A rating, compatibility with 3-phase power, remote start terminals, start/stop functionality, a control voltage range of 250-500V AC/DC, an overload range of 57-68A, and a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
