Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters comprise a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, consult the motor or equipment nameplate to determine the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, ensuring to note whether the power is 1-phase or 3-phase. It is essential to choose a starter rated for current (amps) that exceeds the FLA. The control power used to close the contactor must also be specified, along with selecting the overload by choosing a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power: "direct-online starter" if the line power is utilized as control power, "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from the line voltage, and "remote start terminals" if the starter is activated from an external switch. Notable features include an 80A 3-phase separate coil voltage, remote start terminals, a reset button, and a coil voltage range of 250-500V AC/DC, along with overload protection rated at 57-68A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
